How the address is derived
The Multisig pallet hashes the text modlpy/utilisuba, the signatories and the threshold with BLAKE2b-256. The 32-byte hash is the account id; the address is that id in SS58 with Bittensor's prefix, 42.
- The signatories are sorted by their public keys first, so the order you enter them in doesn't change the result.
- Addresses are read as public keys, so a Polkadot-style address (prefix 0) or a 0x key gives the same multisig as the Bittensor address of the same account.
- Changing any signatory, adding or removing one, or changing the threshold gives a different account.
- The chain allows up to 100 signatories.
Using it
To approve a call, each signatory sends as_multi or approve_as_multi with the threshold and the other signatories. If the address here doesn't match the multisig you expect, one of those inputs differs.
