1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Bittensor.ai (“the Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site. We may update these Terms at any time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. These Terms may be updated as the legal structure and operating jurisdiction of the Site evolve.
2. Eligibility and Geographic Restrictions
Access to the Site is restricted in certain jurisdictions to comply with applicable laws. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that:
- Sanctions compliance: You are not located in, ordinarily resident in, or accessing the Site from a country subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions (including, as of the date of these Terms: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, and Belarus). You are not a person identified on any U.S. government sanctions list, including the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List. We block access from these jurisdictions in full.
- New York residents: If you are a resident of the State of New York, the following features are unavailable to you and you agree not to use them: the Trade interface, the Swap interface, and the Buy interface (including all fiat-on-ramp flows). These features are restricted in New York pending determinations under New York's virtual-currency licensing regime (23 NYCRR Part 200, “BitLicense”). The remainder of the Site, including the block explorer, subnet and validator data, portfolio tracking, and educational content, remains available to New York residents.
- Local law: Your use of the Site complies with all laws applicable to you in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to laws related to securities, money transmission, sanctions, taxation, and consumer protection. You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of the Site is lawful in your jurisdiction.
- Age: You are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater).
We reserve the right to restrict access from additional jurisdictions or to specific features at any time, with or without notice, based on legal, regulatory, or risk considerations.
3. Description of Service
Bittensor.ai is a blockchain explorer and ecosystem platform for the Bittensor decentralized AI network. The Site provides:
- Browsing and searching Bittensor blockchain data (blocks, extrinsics, events, calls).
- Subnet information and statistics.
- Account and wallet lookup.
- User accounts with dashboard customization, favorite subnets, and wallet linking.
- API access for programmatic queries (subject to separate API terms).
4. Accounts
Some features require an account. When you create one, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information.
- Keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for abusive purposes.
5. API Usage
Access to the Bittensor.ai API is subject to the following conditions:
- Authentication: API access requires a valid API key issued through your account.
- Rate limits: All API usage is subject to rate limits. Exceeding your plan's limits may result in throttled or blocked requests.
- Fair use: You may not use the API to build a competing blockchain explorer or to systematically scrape data for redistribution.
- No circumvention: You may not bypass rate limits, authentication, or other security measures. Accessing the backend API through means other than the Site or your issued API key is prohibited.
- Paid plans: Certain API tiers require payment. Terms specific to paid plans are provided at the time of purchase.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any illegal purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its infrastructure (including denial-of-service attacks).
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Site beyond what is permitted by your API plan, except via robots.txt-compliant search engine indexing.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Site.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the Site without authorization.
7. Blockchain Data
The Site displays data from the Bittensor blockchain, which is a public, decentralized network. Please understand:
- Accuracy: We make reasonable efforts to display accurate data, but blockchain data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors. We are not responsible for decisions made based on data shown on the Site.
- Not financial advice: Nothing on the Site constitutes financial, investment, or trading advice. Cryptocurrency and decentralized networks carry inherent risks.
- Public data: Blockchain transactions, wallet addresses, and associated data are inherently public. Displaying this data on the Site does not create any privacy obligation beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Wallet Linking
You may link Bittensor wallet addresses to your account. By doing so:
- You certify that you own or are authorized to use the wallet.
- We store only the public address and a verification signature — never private keys.
- You may unlink a wallet at any time through your account settings.
9. Cryptocurrency Swaps
The Site provides a swap feature that allows you to exchange cryptocurrencies for TAO through a third-party provider (SimpleSwap). By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree:
- Third-party service: Swaps are facilitated entirely by SimpleSwap. Bittensor.ai does not custody, hold, or transfer any digital assets at any point during the exchange process. We act solely as a user interface to SimpleSwap's API.
- Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for verifying the destination wallet address, the amount, and the network before confirming a swap. Transactions on blockchain networks are irreversible — funds sent to an incorrect address cannot be recovered by Bittensor.ai or SimpleSwap.
- No guarantee: We do not guarantee exchange rates, availability of specific trading pairs, or completion times. Rates shown are estimates and may change between the time you view them and the time your swap is executed.
- Compliance: You represent that your use of the swap feature complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction, including laws related to money transmission, sanctions, and taxation. Bittensor.ai is not a money services business, broker, or financial institution.
- SimpleSwap terms: Your use of the swap feature is additionally governed by SimpleSwap's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. SimpleSwap handles all KYC/AML compliance for fiat transactions.
- Limitation of liability: Bittensor.ai shall not be liable for any losses arising from failed, delayed, or incorrect swaps, including but not limited to losses caused by network congestion, exchange downtime, or user error in providing wallet addresses.
10. Exchange Referral Links
We may offer a referral program that rewards users for inviting others. If available, specific referral terms will be provided at the time of enrollment. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time, and to revoke rewards obtained through fraudulent or abusive means.
11. Intellectual Property
The Site's design, code, logos, and original content are owned by the operators of Bittensor.ai or their licensors. Blockchain data displayed on the Site is public and not subject to our copyright claims. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary materials without permission.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators of Bittensor.ai and their affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising from or related to your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of Bittensor.ai, their officers, directors, and employees from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Site ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) shall survive.
16. Dispute Resolution
The Site is operated from multiple jurisdictions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration, and not in any court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if eligible. You waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration. The governing law and seat of arbitration will be specified in a future revision of these Terms; until then, the arbitrator shall apply principles of law most closely connected to the dispute.
